Terms of Service

Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a contract between you and Blackhorse Publishing Inc("we", "us") for use of Blackhorse Sentinel at blackhorsesentinel.com, related APIs, browser extensions, and mobile apps. By creating an account, clicking to accept, or using the service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

Blackhorse Sentinel provides language-drift analysis, signed reports, project corpora, and related tooling over the web and our mobile app. Features available to you depend on your plan. Analysis outputs are informational tools for review of language patterns; they are not professional, legal, medical, or investment advice. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice when practicable.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) and able to form a binding contract. If you use Sentinel on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Accounts

You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and API keys and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. Keep your contact email accurate so we can reach you about security, billing, and service notices.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Misuse the service, attempt to breach security, or circumvent plan limits, rate limits, or access controls
• Submit unlawful content or content you lack rights to analyze and store
• Interfere with other users, scrape without authorization, or reverse engineer the service except where law permits
• Use outputs to harass individuals, or to violate applicable law or third-party rights
• Misrepresent analysis outputs as certified legal, regulatory, or compliance determinations

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create risk to the service or other users.

Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis until cancelled. Subscriptions purchased on the web are managed at blackhorsesentinel.com. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. Taxes may apply.

The Pro plan includes a 14-day free trial. A valid payment method is required at signup. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription automatically renews at $149 per month. You can cancel anytime through the billing portal at blackhorsesentinel.com to avoid future charges.

We may change prices with notice before the next billing period. Continued use after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price for subsequent periods.

Your content and intellectual property

You retain rights to content you submit. You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, analyze, and display that content solely to provide and improve the service (including generating signed reports and project analytics). You represent that you have all rights needed to grant this license.

The Sentinel software, branding, models, dashboards, and report-signing infrastructure remain our property (or our licensors'). Subject to these Terms and your plan, you may use reports generated for your account for your internal business purposes.

Third-party services

The service depends on processors such as Supabase, Stripe, Vercel, and email delivery providers. Their use of data is described in our Privacy Policy. Publisher sites you browse with Blackhorse Reader remain under those publishers' terms; we do not claim to control them.

Termination

You may stop using Sentinel and cancel paid plans through the billing portal. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms, non-payment, legal requirement, or if we discontinue the service. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends; provisions that by nature should survive (including IP, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnity) will survive.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that analysis scores, drift metrics, or reports are complete, accurate for every corpus, or suitable as a sole basis for legal or business decisions.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR AFFILIATES ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.

Indemnification

You will defend and indemnify us against claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your content, your use of the service or its outputs, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date will change when we do. Material changes will be posted on this page; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the service and cancel any paid plan.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State in which Blackhorse Publishing Inc is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in that State will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, except where applicable law requires otherwise (including mandatory consumer protections in your country).
